Tiny Desk Designs draws inspiration from the textures of Pacific Northwest. From the lush forests, to the pebbly coastal shores, and even the abundant rainclouds. I seek to capture these experiences using precious metals, gems, and ancient techniques. Hand fabrication, lost wax casting, and vitreous enamels are used to translate the beauty of place into wearable pieces of art.
I’ve been making jewelry since high school, where I learned to move metal in a pre-college program at RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) and continued to hone my skills at University of the Arts and Portland Jewelry Academy. I also have a degree in Education. As a high school art teacher I loved showing young folks you can be an artist as a career.
