I have lived in Skamania County, in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge, for over forty years. As a young adult I began throwing pottery and selling it part time. When I retired from my career in social work, I decided to pursue pottery full time.
I spend my work week doing what I truly enjoy, playing in the mud. Pottery is the one artistic endeavor that I find relaxing, joyful and it allows me to express myself in work that is functional at the same time as it is pleasing to the eye.
As a functional artist I want people to use my work every day and enjoy the beauty while putting the pieces to good use. Engaging the community at the Farmers Market is an integral part of the pleasure pottery brings me and helps me grow as an artist, so most of my work is displayed and sold through this venue. I enjoy getting to know my customers and I hope my customers get the same joy using these pieces as I do making them.
