I’m Elizabeth, owner of Little Tail Ceramics. I started doing ceramics over 20 years ago after a transformative experience that resulted in an intense desire to make art.
I make wheel thrown and altered vessels and sculptures plus artisan drawer pulls. My creatures have a whimsy to them but also a bit of trickster and wise intelligence. My patterns are influenced by a mix of natural design, midcentury atomic, rustic gypsy, and our universal need for connection. I use commercial underglazes, cone 6 glazes, pigments and washes. I enjoy wiping back glazes and oxides to get the multilayered look that you see. I work out of my home studio in Vancouver, Washington and fire all work to cone 6.
